Hesse tour

The Hessen-Rundfahrt , officially a 3-country tour of SV SparkassenVersicherung since 2006, or 3-country tour for short , was a cycle stage race that was held from 1982 to 2007.

It was originally designed as a cycling race for amateurs . The Hessen Tour was part of the UCI Europe Tour (category 2.1), which was founded in 2005, and was part of the new German championship . On its 25th anniversary year in 2006, the Hessen Tour was renamed the Three Country Tour . The name alluded to the fact that the tour no longer mainly led through Hesse , but to an equal extent also through Thuringia and Baden-Württemberg .

Due to the loss of its main sponsor, SparkassenVersicherung , the Hessen Tour has not been held since 2008.
