Grischa Niermann (born November 3, 1975 in Hanover ) is a former German racing cyclist and later sporting director of a cycling team .

Athletic career

Since 1999 Grischa Niermann drove for the Dutch team Rabobank ; he was considered a good time trial . From 2000 to 2004 he competed in the Tour de France for Rabobank . In 2007 he started again in the Tour de France , which he finished 86th in the overall classification. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 he was nominated again for the tour. After the Vuelta a España in 2012 , he ended his career in order to work on the coaching staff of the Rabobank Continental Team , the junior team of the Rabobank Cycling Team.

doping

In January 2013, Grischa Niermann admitted to having doped with EPO "a few times" between 2000 and 2003 . He announced that he would provide the Dutch Anti-Doping Commission with all the details and information. At that time, Niermann drove for the Dutch Rabobank team . With effect from February 15, 2013, Niermann, who has been employed as a junior trainer by the Dutch cycling association Koninklijke Nederlandsche Wielren Unie (KNWU) since January 1, 2013, was suspended as a trainer for six months.
