Peter Becker (born July 14, 1955 in Lohra ) is a former German racing cyclist .

In 1978 Peter Becker won the prologue of the Tour of Austria and in the same year two stages and the overall ranking of the Tour of Lower Saxony . In 1980 he won the prologue of the Lower Saxony Tour and another stage the following year. Also in 1981 he finished tenth at the road world championships in Prague and won the Brügelmann Cup as the best road amateur of the season. In 1982 he decided the Berlin stage trip for himself. He received a professional offer from Peugeot-Michelin , but turned it down. The following year he won a stage in the Milk Race .

Peter Becker also took part in the International Peace Tour twice - in 1976 and 1984 ; In 1976 he resigned because he fell and broke his arm. A possible start at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal was prevented. In 1980 Becker was nominated for the Olympic Games in Moscow when the participation of the athletes from the Federal Republic was canceled. In 1984, despite good performances, he was not nominated for the games by national coach Klaus-Peter Thaler .

In 1987 Becker and the team of the Berlin RC Opel-Schüler became German champions in the team time trial, together with Frank Plambeck , Jörg Müller and Joachim Hillenbrand .

After retiring from competitive cycling in 1988, Peter Becker took over his father's driving school in Lohra .
