Hans Kuhn (born November 6, 1948 in Ahlen ) is a former German racing cyclist, retired school principal and moderator.

Life

He grew up in Fröndenberg / Ruhr , studied for teaching at the Technical University of Dortmund , where he had a teaching position in the sports department for several years. In addition to Jürgen Kißner at the Sports University in Cologne and Rüdiger Rabenstein at the University of Münster , he was one of the first to establish cycling in university education. He then taught as a teacher and, from 1989 to 2014, headed the Liedbach School Unna, a municipal elementary school in the suburb of Unna-Billmerich, as principal .

Since 1984, Kuhn has been chairman of the RSV Unna , which has been through its major events (Easter race through the Unna district or the cycling night with the professional world stars in downtown Unna with 30,000 spectators each) and its successful athletes (world champion Charlotte Becker , world champion Lucas Liß ) is one of the most important German cycling clubs. Since 1979 he has been active as a moderator in all areas of public life in Fröndenberg and Unna and especially as a racing spokesman in cycling in all disciplines, such as at the start of the Giro d'Italia in 2002 in Münster and at the UCI road world championships in 2007 in Stuttgart .

Athletic career

Hans Kuhn committed to the team time trial as his preferred cycling discipline at an early age and won the German Cup in record time with the German national four together with Algis Oleknavicius , Dieter Leitner and Jürgen Tschan at the age of 20 . In the same line-up, the four-man took eighth place in the 1969 World Road Championships in Brno in what was then the CSSR . Hans Kuhn became German champion in 1971 with the PSV Köln's four-way scull together with Dieter Leitner, Josef Flachs and Dieter Koslar . In contrast to racing drivers of his generation such as Klaus-Peter Thaler or Dietrich Thurau , he did not switch to the professional camp and remained an amateur until the end of his racing career in 1976 .
