Horst Ruster

Horst Ruster (born June 6, 1940 in Heidelberg ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Ruster was twice German champion in the team time trial with the RRC final spurt Mannheim , first in 1962 (with Bernd Rohr , Rüdiger Meindl and Hans Mangold ) and then again in 1966. In 1965 he and his team became vice-champion. At the championships in road racing , second place in 1963 behind Winfried Bölke was his best result. He made his first international appearance with second place in the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour in 1963. With Tour de la Province de Liège , he was able to win a stage trip in 1966. The fourth place in the Lake Geneva Tour in 1969 was his last notable result in a cycling race. As a senior, Ruster was still active in the RSC Ladenburg .

Professional

After his career he ran a bicycle shop in Ladenburg .
