The (. NRVG) Neuköllner racing association Luisenstadt 1910 eV Berlin is a Berlin cycling - club , the Berlin in 1910 in the then district Luisenstadt under the name "R.Vg. Luisenstadt ”was founded.
history
In 1910 the founding members Albert Lorenz, Herbert Hamann, Hermann Rügiger and Alfred Thim had the racing community entered in the club register at the Berlin-Mitte district court. Until the beginning of the First World War , the club was one of the largest clubs in what was then the cycling union. Since it was founded, the racing association has also been familiar with organizing bicycle races . In addition to six club races and just as many public races, the “Luisenstadt” also hosted the well-known “Neumark Great Road Prize” over 250 kilometers.
2012 was the 56th edition of the Rollbergrenn , which is organized by NRVg Luisenstadt.
Known drivers
The club produced numerous well-known racing cyclists . Before the Second World War, these included Oskar Tietz and the Purann brothers and, in the 1950s, Max Bartoskiewicz and Hans Schliebener . More recently, cycling greats such as Dieter Puschel , Matthias Kessler , Klaus Bugdahl , Gerd Modrow , Burckhard Bremer and Hartmut Scholz belong to the Berlin club. Currently, among others, the Berlin professional cyclist Marcel Kalz is an active athlete of the NRVg. Luisenstadt.
Also a member of the club is Alfred Witte, who gave the starting signal for the Rollberg race in 2012 at the age of 101 and is considered the oldest cyclist in Germany . He is honorary chairman of the association to which he has belonged since 1928.
Youth work
The NRVg. Luisenstadt offers a wide range of ages and disciplines. From the junior to the master classes of the club in the disciplines is rail and road cycling and cross-country in various power classes from Latitude represented to competitive sport.
Popular sport
Around 1979 the NRVg. Luisenstadt is the first Berlin club to have a bike tour department . The membership grew rapidly until the division consisted of over 120 members in the mid-1980s. This made them the strongest club in Berlin. The first bike tour of the Association of German Cyclists in Berlin, the “1. Berliner Kindl Runde ”was supported by the club's popular sports department. Due to the success of this event, the Berliner Kindl Runde remained in the growing popular sports calendar in the years to come.
