Marcel Kalz (born March 9, 1987 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2004 and 2005, Marcel Kalz was German junior champion in the points race and in the two-man team race (with Norman Dimde ). Also in 2005 Kalz and Dimde came second in the Junior World Championship in two-man team driving in Vienna . In 2007 he won the European Championships in Alkmaar with Erik Mohs in Madison . Four times, in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012, he won the German championship title in two-man team driving (Madison), together with Robert Bengsch . The duo finished second in the 2009 World Cup race in Melbourne . In 2013 he won the Bremen six-day race with Franco Marvulli , and in 2014 that of Copenhagen with Robert Bartko . In the same year he became German Madison Master for the fifth time, together with Leif Lampater .

Kalz won the prestigious New York circuit race Harlem Skyscraper Cycling Classic twice - in 2013 and 2015 . He completed 31 six-day races, of which he won five, most recently in 2017 with Iljo Keisse in the Bremen six-day race . In the same year he ended his cycling career.
