Heinz Zoll (born December 4, 1926 in Magdeburg ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

Zoll began cycling, spurred on by the success of his brother Martin in the Magdeburg club "Krampe 1910" . By taking part in the "First Step", he became a successful youth driver. In 1943 his career was interrupted when he was drafted into the German Wehrmacht . After returning from captivity, he settled in Berlin and became a professional cyclist from 1949 to 1958. After his victory in the Berlin circuit race around the Pfefferberg , he received a contract from the Dürkopp company . Zoll was able to win two titles in the Eastern Zone Championship, in 1949 in a single race for over an hour, in 1949 in a two-man team race with his standard partner Wolfgang Weighardt . At the Tour of Germany in 1950 he won the 14th stage and was 12th in the overall ranking. He then specialized in six-day races . By 1957 he had started 40 six-day races, of which he won two: 1952 in Berlin with Émile Carrara and 1957 in Cleveland with Herbert Weinrich . Zoll was at the start a total of 14 times in Berlin. In 1955 he was also German champion in two-man team driving with Weinrich. In 1957 he ended his career.

Heinz Zoll had two brothers who were also cyclists: Martin (former German youth champion and killed in World War II) and Fred Zoll.
