Erik Mohs (born October 12, 1986 in Leipzig ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

On the track , Erik Mohs became German junior champion in two-man team driving in 2004 (Madison). In the following years he got some podium placements at the UIV Cup (junior competition for six-day drivers ). Among other things, he won this competition in Berlin and Ghent in 2006 and came second in the overall ranking.

In 2007 and 2008 Mohs drove for the Continental Team Milram . In his first year there, he was able to win a stage at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Gemenc and also became European U23 men's champion in Madison with Marcel Kalz . In December 2009 he and Marcel Barth won the two-man team at the World Cup race in Cali .

In 2014 Erik Mohs started at the UCI Paracycling World Track Championships in 2014 as a pilot for the visually impaired cyclist Tim Kleinwächter on the tandem , and both of them reached eighth place in the single pursuit . This pairing was created as part of the Tandem 2016 initiative of the German Disabled Sports Association .

After Mohs and Kleinwächter failed to qualify for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro , Erik Mohs ended his cycling career. Mohs was a member of a sports promotion group of the Federal Police and now works as a police officer in Leipzig (as of 2017).
