Grand Prix Cycliste de Gemenc
The Grand Prix Cycliste de Gemenc ( German : Großer Radsportpreis von Gemenc , Hungarian : Gemenci Nagydíj ) is a road bike race in southwest Hungary . The starting point for the tour , which consists of a prologue and two or three stages , is the town of Szekszárd . The race was part of the UCI Europe Tour until 2009 and was UCI Category 2.2 . The first time the race was held in 1975 as an amateur race. In 2017 and 2018 the race was again registered as part of the UCI Europe Tour in category 2.2. In 2019, the race was held in two individual one-day races without an overall ranking.
The race is named after the Gemencer Forest , a floodplain of the Danube and part of the Duna Dráva National Park .
