Marc Altmann (born March 9, 1981 in Hoyerswerda ) is a former German track cyclist .

In 1997 Marc Altmann, Gerd Elsmann and Stefan Richter became German team champions on track and road with the youth team of the State of Brandenburg . At the German track championships, Altmann took silver in the points race .

In 1998 Altmann became Junior World Champion in the team pursuit in Havana , together with Daniel Palicki, Daniel Schlegel and Mark Schneider, and the following year in Athens he was Vice Junior World Champion in the same discipline (with Markus Fothen , Christian Müller and Schlegel).

In 2000 and 2001 Altmann took third place in the team pursuit of the elite at German track championships, in 2000 in Hamburg together with Steffen Lockan, Thorsten Rund and Daniel Ettlich, in 2001 in Chemnitz with Guido Fulst , André Kalfack and Andreas Müller . Also in 2001 he was third in the European Championship in the team pursuit (U23) in Büttgen , with Leif Lampater , Schlegel and Müller. In 2003 Altmann became German championship points race . At the Athens Open Balkan Championships 2004, Marc Altmann won two gold and one silver medals: gold in the two-man team race with Andreas Müller and in the team pursuit with Henning Bommel , Christian Kux and Daniel Schlegel, silver in the points race. At the national championships in 2004 he took two second places, in the points race and in the team pursuit (with Robert Kriegs , Karl-Christian König and Henning Bommel).

Between 2000 and 2005 Altmann started in seven six-day races ; he also drove standing races .

In 2007 Marc Altmann had to end his active cycling career on medical advice. He works as a two-wheel mechanic in southern Germany.
