Christian Kux (born May 3, 1985 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a former German cyclist .
Athletic career
2001 Christian Kux became German youth champion in the single pursuit on the track . In the following year he won a stage in the Cottbus Bundesliga stage race of the juniors, was third in the overall standings and also German junior champion in the single pursuit. He was able to defend this title the following year, where he also became vice world champion in the team pursuit, together with Sascha Damrow , Frank Schulz and Stefan Schäfer .
From 2006 to 2007 Kux drove for the Continental Team Milram in the U23 class. In his first season he won two runs and thus the overall ranking of the U23 Bundesliga. On the track he won the U23 six-day race in Munich with his partner Marcel Kalz . In 2007 he and his team won the team time trial of the Tour of Thuringia . At the German U23 championship he finished second in the road race and third in Rund um den Sachsenring . So he was able to win the overall ranking of the International German Championship in the U23 class.
In 2008 and 2009 Christian Kux started for the UCI ProTeam - Milram . During this time he was only able to achieve a few minor successes, such as a 6th stage place in the Three Days of West Flanders and a day in the dotted jersey at the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré . In 2008 he started at the Vuelta a España , but had to leave it on the 19th stage. His best result was a 45th stage place. At the end of the 2009 season he ended his professional career to begin studying dentistry .
Since the end of his professional career, Kux has continued to race for the DSC Radteam , an amateur team from Dresden. In 2011 he won the Saxon state championship in Obergurig . He also finished fourth in the race around the Sachsenring , in which he had already finished third in 2007. He also competes in standing races .
