Philipp Walsleben (born November 19, 1987 in Potsdam ) is a German racing cyclist .

Career

Walsleben achieved his greatest successes in cyclocross . So he was nine times German cyclo-cross champion , including six times in the elite , once in the U23 and twice in the juniors. In the 2008/2009 season he was first European and later world champion in the U23 .

In line with this specialization, Walsleben mainly drove in cycling teams that are mainly involved in cycling. From 2009 to 2017 he drove for the Belgian UCI Continental Team BKCP-Powerplus . With this team he was also able to achieve success in road cycling . So he won u. a. 2013 a section and the overall ranking of the international stage race Baltic Chain Tour .

The 2013/14 season was Walsleben's most successful cyclo-cross season. He has made it onto the podium several times in the World Cup and thus asserted himself among the top three in the overall standings. In addition, he was able to become German champion in the elite for the fourth time.

In November 2017 Walsleben ended his career as a cross rider in order to devote more time to road cycling. He joined the cycling Bundesliga team PS Team Thuringia . For this team he won the overall ranking of the Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour in May 2018 . He also won the overall ranking of the 2018 cycling Bundesliga .
