Jan Tschernoster (born August 31, 1996 in Bergkamen ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

As a junior driver, Tschernoster won the individual time trial of the Lower Saxony Tour in 2014 . In 2015 he was signed to the UCI Continental Team Rad-net Rose . In 2016 he finished second at the German U23 time trial championships , with his team German champions in the team time trial and won the overall ranking of the cycling Bundesliga in 2016 .

Due to health problems, Tschernoster announced in June 2017 that he would not race again until the following year. After successfully starting the season in 2018, he fell during the U23 event of the International Peace Tour in June of that year and suffered a fractured pelvis . From September on, Tschernoster competed again. At the beginning of May 2019, he collided with an oncoming cyclist while training and was seriously injured again, now on his left arm. In September 2019 he announced his retirement from competitive cycling because he did not receive a professional contract and therefore wanted to devote himself to his professional training.
