German road cycling championships 2018
The 2018 Elite German Road Cycling Championships took place from June 29th to July 1st in Einhausen in Hesse .
The organizer was the RV 1926 eV Einhausen association . The head of organization was the multiple German champion Algis Oleknavicius , who has already organized six German championships, most recently the German road championships in 2015 in Bensheim . The twelve-kilometer long traditional circuit "Around the Jägersburger Wald" , on which this race was held until 2007, served as the route . One reason for holding the championships in Einhausen was the 1250th anniversary of the town with 6000 inhabitants.
The championships kicked off on Friday, June 29, 2018, with the title fights in the individual time trial for the elite men and women and the U23 men. The elite women's road race was held on Saturday. A race for everyone started on Sunday, July 1st, followed by the elite men's race at 11 a.m.
The U23 road race was held separately as the 2018 three-country championship together with the Luxembourg and Swiss U23 championships on June 17, 2018 in the Unna district . The team time trial took place on September 2, as in the previous three years in Genthin instead.
