Urule Igbavboa

Urule Igbavboa (born April 25, 1987 ) is a former American / German basketball player . The 2.05 meter long wing and inside player was under contract with the German Bundesliga club SC Rasta Vechta and Phoenix Hagen  .

career

The son of a German mother from Munster and a Nigerian father played basketball at Tartan High School in the US state of Minnesota . In 2005 he moved to Valparaiso University in Indiana , where he was part of the university team until 2009. In his final season 2008/09 Igbavboa scored an average of 12.0 points as well as 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 basket assists per use for Valparaiso.

In September 2009 he was announced as a new addition by the German Bundesliga club BG Göttingen , but ultimately the contract was not signed because Igbavboa did not pass the medical initial examinations at the Lower Saxony because of a knee injury. He then played his first year as a professional basketball player in the first Icelandic league and was runner-up with the Keflavík club .

In the 2010/11 season he was under contract with the Greek second division club SFK Perikos / Arhelaos, and between 2011 and 2013 he strengthened the Swedish first division club LF Basket . Especially in his second season he knew how to draw attention to himself with strong performances: Igbavboa scored an average of 14.3 points and 7.1 rebounds for the team from the city of Luleå during the 2012/13 season . He was then selected by the internet service eurobasket.com as one of the best European players in the league.

For the 2013/14 season Igbavboa moved to Bundesliga promoted SC Rasta Vechta in Germany. He missed out on the class with the Lower Saxony, in the course of the season he came to 30 Bundesliga appearances and averages of 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per encounter.

During the 2014/15 game year he was in the service of Phoenix Hagen (also Bundesliga) and also posted an average of 5.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in 30 games.
