The German elite road cycling championships 2017 took place from June 23 to 25, 2017 in Chemnitz , Saxony . A total of five German championship titles were awarded.

Championships of the elite

The city of Chemnitz was supported by the Chemnitz Police Sports Club, the Chemnitz Cycling Club and the City Sports Association of Chemnitz in carrying out the championships .

The three individual time trials led over a flat, level route through the Chemnitz Valley . For the men the turning point was in Altmittweida , for the women and the U23 men near the museum station Markersdorf-Taura . The race was also rated for the Rad-Bundesliga. The road races for women and men were decided on a circuit in the city of Chemnitz, with start and finish in Hartmannstrasse. A height difference of 238 meters had to be overcome per lap.

On Saturday, June 24th, before the women's road race, there was a cycling tour for everyone , the Sports City Tour . Course announcer and moderator of the championship was Karsten Migels .

U23

The road championship for U23 drivers took place on May 21, 2017 in Dautphe . The drivers had to complete a 9.4 kilometer lap 20 times. The German U23 champion was Max Kanter from Cottbus . The U23 individual time trial was held in Chemnitz.

Juniors / youth

Parallel to the championships of the elite, those of the juniors and youth were held in Linden in the Palatinate . These competitions were also rated for the Rad-Bundesliga .

After the race, Richard Banusch from the LKT Team Brandenburg was declared champion. After repeated checks, an evaluation error was found in the time recording. The driving time of Banusch was corrected to 39:14 minutes and his championship title was revoked.

Team time trial (in Genthin)

The championship in the men's six-team time trial (elite) was held on September 3, 2017 in Genthin (Saxony-Anhalt) as part of the cycling Bundesliga . The winner was the Lotto-Kern Haus team .
