Karsten Migels (* 1964 ) is a German cycling commentator for Eurosport , a spokesperson for cycling events and a former cyclist .

Cycling career

Migels came to cycling by chance at the age of twelve. His football coach at the time gave Migels five D-Marks because of his lack of ball talent, with the condition that he should try his luck in another sport. He came to RVC Reute through a classmate .

As a cyclist, Migels was several times Badischer Meister on the track, off-road and on the road. He drove for a few years in the German junior and amateur national team. At the German cyclo-cross championships in 1982 he was the junior German champion and finished ninth at the cyclocross world championships . As an elite driver, he was involved in the Swiss “Paterlini Saxer Look” team.

Professional

Since June 1997 Migels has been reporting on major cycling events for the television station Eurosport . In addition to the Tour de France , he also comments on the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España . He is also the spokesperson for the Berlin six-day race . He was also on site as a spokesperson at the UCI Bahn World Championships 2020 in Berlin.

Migels is several editors of the book volumes Radsport Jahresrückblick .

Since the UCI Road World Championships 2019 Migels operated jointly by Marc Rohde the podcast crosswind under the slogan "Everything for the wheel".
