Bret Blevins

Bret Blevins (born August 13, 1960 ) is an American comic book artist , painter and storyboard artist.

Life and work

Blevins began working as a professional comic book artist in the early 1980s. In the early years of his career, he drew comic book adaptations of television series published by Marvel Comics , such as those of The Dark Crystal , Krull and The last Starfighter .

After some work as a substitute artist on various series, Blevins was finally hired as a regular draftsman for the series The Bozz Chronicles . This series appeared on Epic Comics , an imprint of Marvel.

In 1987 Blevins took over the job of the regular draftsman of the series Strange Tales , an anthology series for which he drew the stories of the title Cloak and Dagger .

In the same year Blevins was assigned to the series New Mutants . For this series he drew issues 55 to 83. After this engagement ended in 1989, he took over the Sleepwalker series. In 1993 he moved to DC Comics , where he designed several editions of the Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight series before he drew the Batman: Shadow of the Bat series from 1993 to 1995 (issues 16 to 33). His partner on this project was the author Alan Grant .

In 1996 Blevins began working as a cartoonist. In the following years he mainly drew storyboards for Warner Brothers . Blevins ended this activity in 2005 to work as a gallery painter. Since then, Blevins has mainly added oil paintings to his works .
