Mieke Kröger (born July 18, 1993 in Bielefeld ) is a German racing cyclist . In 2015 she became world champion in the team time trial .
Athletic career
In 2009 Mieke Kröger won victories in “Rund in Schwerte”, the “Erftpokal von Quadrath” and the “Brackweder Radrennen”, each in the U17 class for women. In 2010 and 2011 she was German junior champion in the individual time trial on the road . At the Bahn-DM in Cottbus in 2010 she took third place in the single pursuit among the juniors. At the Junior World Championships in the same year, she was eighth in the road race despite a fall. In 2011 she was first German champion of junior women in road racing in Meiningen , and a little later in Berlin in the single pursuit on the track . In August of the same year she won the world title of junior women in pursuit in Moscow .
At the UCI Road World Championships 2011 in September of the same year, Kröger won bronze in the individual time trial of the juniors. In 2012 she took second place in the individual time trial (U23) at the European Road Championships for Juniors and U23 in Goes, the Netherlands . The following year she was fifth in the individual time trial at the European Championship in road races (U23) in Brno .
In 2014 Mieke Kröger became European champion (U23) in the individual time trial and in the single pursuit. At the UEC European Track Championships for Juniors / U23 in Athens in 2015 , she and Gudrun Stock , Lisa Klein and Anna Knauer won the silver medal in the team pursuit and the bronze medal in the single pursuit. The following UEC Road European Championships for Juniors / U23 2015 in Estonian Tartu it was the second time European champion in the time trial (U23).
At the 2015 Road World Championships in Richmond (Virginia) , Kröger and her Velocio-SRAM team were world champions in the team time trial.
In 2016 Mieke Kröger won the road race of the German championships in Erfurt . She was also nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished ninth in the team pursuit together with Charlotte Becker , Stephanie Pohl and Gudrun Stock . At the UEC European Rail Championships in 2018 , she won the bronze medal in the team pursuit together with Lisa Brennauer , Gudrun Stock and Charlotte Becker.
