Chantal Blaak (born October 22, 1989 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2006 Chantal Blaak was two-time Dutch junior champion, in the individual time trial on the road and in the single pursuit on the track , in 2007 she was able to win the time trial title again. In 2008 she was runner-up in the student world championship in road racing . In 2009 she won the title of European champion (youngsters) in road racing. 2012 she won at the World Championships streets with Kirsten Wild , Emma Pooley , Sharon Laws , Jessie Daams and Lucinda Brand in the team time trial third.
In 2014 Blaak won the Open de Suède Vårgårda one-day race , which is part of the Cycling World Cup , and the team time trial together with her team Specialized-lululemon . At the world championships in the same year, the team with Chantal Blaak won the team time trial title. She was able to repeat this success at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships with the Boels Dolmans team . In 2015 and 2017 she was runner- up with her team Boels Dolmans . Also in 2017, Blaak achieved her greatest individual success when she became world champion in road racing.
In 2017 and 2018 Chantal Blaak became Dutch road champion. At the UCI Road World Championships 2018 in Innsbruck , she again won the silver medal in the team time trial with Boels Dolmans , and she won the Amstel Gold Race . In 2019 she won the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and won individual time trials at the European Silver Games .
Blaak started the 2020 season with a win at Le Samyn . In the wake of the corona pandemic , further street races were canceled in the following months.
