Le Samyn

The Le Samyn , including Memorial José Samyn is a Belgian one-day races in cycling , the year in early March in Fayt-le-Franc held for men and since 2012 for women. The start is in Frameries , the finish in Duor .

The race was initially held from 1963 as an amateur race under the name Grand Prix de la Madeleine and, after the professionals were approved, in 1968 as the Grand Prix de Fayt-Le-Franc . It was renamed Memorial José Samyn after the death of the first professional winner José Samyn in 1969 . It has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and is classified in UCI Category 1.1 .

The event includes a cycling tour and a school race.
