Maxime Vantomme (born March 8, 1986 in Menen ) is a Belgian racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Maxime Vantomme won the junior one-day race Gouden Fiets Eddy Merckx in 2002 and in 2004 he was first in the overall standings at Keizer der Juniores Koksijde. In the U23 class, he took third place in the Belgian championship in 2005 and second place in Paris-Tours . In 2006 he won the Danny Jonckheere Oudenburg Memorial and a stage at the Ronde de l'Oise and later drove for the ProTeam Quick Step-Innergetic as a stagiaire . The next year he drove without a professional contract and won a stage in the Tour des Pays de Savoie, as well as the Danny Jonckheere Oudenburg Memorial for the second time. In 2008 Vantomme drove for the Professional Continental Team Mitsubishi-Jartazi , where he won a stage at La Amissa Bongo Tropicale in Gabon at the beginning of the season .

After a lean period of several years, Vantomme achieved two successes in 2014: he won the Le Samyn race and the overall classification of the Paris-Arras Tour . In 2015 he won Paris-Chauny , and in 2017 he won a stage of the Circuit des Ardennes .
