Dominic Klemme (born October 31, 1986 in Lemgo ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Klemme began his career in 2006 with Team Heinz von Heiden and one year later switched to Team 3C-Gruppe Lamonta . After good performances at the German road cycling championships , he was nominated for the European championships in Bulgaria , where he was the best German in ninth place. In September 2007 he was also the best German rider in seventh place at the U23 road cycling world championships . In 2008, Klemme was able to achieve several victories; especially two stage wins at the Tour de l'Avenir .

In 2009 and 2010 Klemme drove for the first time with a UCI ProTeam , Team Saxo Bank . At the German Road Cycling Championships in 2009 , he was second in a sprint of a three-man leading group behind surprise winner Martin Reimer . In 2011 he switched to the newly founded Luxembourg team Leopard Trek , for which he clinched the team's first victory after an attack on the last kilometers at the Belgian one-day race Le Samyn .

At the end of 2014, Dominic Klemme ended his racing career. He announced that he would like to catch up on his Abitur as well as compete in mountain bike races in the future .
