Emma Karolina Johansson (born September 23, 1983 in Sollefteå ) is a former Swedish cyclist .

Athletic career

At the 2008 Olympic Games , Emma Johansson won the silver medal in road racing behind Britain's Nicole Cooke . At the 2007 road cycling world championships in Stuttgart , she was sixth. In October 2010 she finished third in the road race at the 2010 UCI Road World Championships in Geelong . In 2012 she started at the Olympic Games in London and finished sixth in the road race.

In 2013, Johansson was runner-up in road racing; in the same year she was UCI world rankings- first before Marianne Vos , who had dominated this ranking for six years. In 2014 she won bronze for third place. In 2016 she started the road race at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and won her second silver medal.

Emma Johansson ended her cycling career at the end of 2017 after she had hardly competed in her last season due to pregnancy.
