from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio is a one-day race for women that is held annually in Cittiglio , the birthplace of the Italian cycling idol Alfredo Binda . The race was part of the Women's Cycling World Cup between 2008 and 2015 and was added to the calendar of the newly launched UCI Women's WorldTour in 2016 .

The Trofeo Alfredo Binda leads over a 15.5-kilometer circuit that is driven eight times. The course leads from Cittiglio via Brenta, Casalzuigno, Casale Alto, Cuveglio, Cuvio, Azzio, Gemonio and back to Cittiglio. The route includes two steep climbs, one at the beginning in Casale Alto and the second in Azzio just before the finish. Coping with these gradients usually determines the outcome of the race.
