Nicole Brändli (born June 18, 1979 in Lucerne ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

Career

The trained commercial clerk was a professional cyclist from 1999 to 2009. She became multiple Swiss champion, junior vice world champion and vice world champion on the road, vice world champion in the time trial in 2001 and 2002 and European time trial champion.

At the Giro d'Italia Femminile she was winner in 2001, 2003 and 2005 and second in 2006. In the 2003 Tour de France for women , she was second.

After Brändli resigned from competitive cycling in 2009 because her team at the time had been disbanded, she announced her comeback in November 2015. For 2016 she signed a contract with the Italian cycling team Servetto Footon , for which her compatriot Jolanda Neff also rides. Her stated goal was to take part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro the following year, and she was supported by former racing driver Mauro Gianetti .

Nicole Brändli is the mother of one son. She is considered a "headstrong" and "dazzling figure" in cycling.
