Barbara Heeb (born February 13, 1969 in Altstätten ) is a former Swiss cyclist and three-time Olympian (1992, 1996, 2004).

Career

Barbara Heeb, one of nine siblings, played several sports in her youth, including skiing and running. It wasn't until the age of 17 that she bought a racing bike . She decided to go cycling at the age of 20, after completing her professional training as a saleswoman.

In 1996 Barbara Heeb managed to achieve the title of road world champion.

She won the title of Swiss road champion four times; she took part in the Olympic Games three times .

In 1999 she retired from cycling and was active in cross-country skiing . Two years later she returned to cycling, but could not build on her previous successes. In April 2005 Barbara Heeb finally ended her career in top sport. She has lived in Tuscany since 2012.
