Amalie Dideriksen (born May 24, 1996 in Kastrup ) is a Danish cyclist who is active on track and road . In 2016 she became the women's road world champion. She is the most successful Danish cyclist of the 2010s.
Athletic career
In 2011 Amalie Dideriksen won the national title in the road race as well as in the individual time trial in the youth class . In 2012 she was three-time Danish champion on the track, in points , in omnium and in scratch . In 2013 she was junior world champion in road racing and also Danish junior champion in the individual time trial; At the 2013 UCI Track World Championships for Juniors , she won bronze in scratch. In 2014 she was able to win the junior world championship title in road racing again.
In 2014 Dideriksen became Danish champion in the elite road race and junior world champion in scratch; In 2015 she was again Danish road champion.
In 2016 Amalie Dideriksen was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished fifth in the Omnium. In the same year she became the first Danish woman to win the title of world champion in road racing. In 2017 she finished third in the road race of the Road World Championship . The following year, she won the silver medal in Omnium and points run at the World Railroad Championships in Apeldoorn .
