Annika Langvad (born March 22, 1984 in Silkeborg ) is a Danish cyclist and multiple world champion who is active in road cycling , mountain bike and cross-country races .

Athletic career

In 2010 Annika Langvad was three times Danish champion in road racing , individual time trial and mountain bike cross country (XC). In 2011 she won the world title in the mountain bike marathon , after finishing third in 2010 . In 2012 , 2014 and 2018 she was able to repeat her gold success. In 2016 she became world champion in cross country.

Langvad also continued to be successful on the road, winning two more Danish time trial championships in 2011 and 2013. There were also two national cyclo-cross titles in 2014 and 2015. In 2018 she was runner-up in cross-country world champion behind the American Kate Courtney in Lenzerheide .

Annika Langvad won the South African mountain bike stage race Cape Epic five times : in 2014, 2015 and 2016 together with Ariane Kleinhans , in 2018 with Kate Courtney and in 2019 with Anna van der Breggen .
