Silvia Fürst

Silvia Barbara Fürst (born May 8, 1961 in Biel ) is a former Swiss cyclist and mountain bike world champion.

In 1988 and 1991 Silvia Fürst was third in the mountain bike world championships in cross country , in 1991 she finished fourth in the world cup . In 1992 she became both world and European champion. In 1995 she was vice world champion and in 1996 third in the European championship. Also in 1996 she started at the Olympic Games in Atlanta and finished 16th in cross country.

In 1998, Fürst ended her sporting career. During this time she was already passionate about painting. In addition to her job, the trained structural draftswoman works as a painter and has already had several exhibitions in Switzerland.
