Jolanda Neff (born January 5, 1993 ) is a Swiss cyclist from Thal . It is three times the U23 World Champion in mountain biking - cross country (2012, 2013, 2014), three times the mountain bike World Cup champion (2014, 2015, 2018), World Champion in mountain bike marathon (2016) and Cross Country (2017).

Career

Jolanda Neff was introduced to the mountain bike sport as a child by her father Markus Neff (mountain bike vice world champion 1997) .

U23 world champion 2012

In September 2012 Jolanda Neff became U23 world champion in cross country and elite runner-up in eliminator in Austria .

In the 2013 season she started for the on the road for the UCI Women's Team Rabobank . The multiple Swiss champion is looked after by her father Markus Neff and Leo van Seeland. In August of this year she was able to repeat her success from the previous year at the MTB World Championship in South Africa and again became U23 World Champion Cross Country and in September elite runner-up in the Eliminator.

In August 2014, after Barbara Blatter (2001), she was the first to win the overall World Cup for a Swiss woman again - at the age of 21, she was the youngest overall winner in the history of the Mountain Bike World Cup. A fourth place in the penultimate race of the season secured her this success in the United States.

In the 2015 season, Neff started for the Stöckli Pro Team . In May she was runner-up in the European mountain bike marathon, and on May 31, she won the second World Cup race of the current season in Albstadt. In June she took part in the 2015 European Games in Baku and won the gold medal in cross country. At the Mountain Bike World Championships 2015 in Andorra, she started in the elite category for the first time.

2016 Summer Olympics

In May 2016 she was able to successfully defend her European Championship individual title in cross country in Huskvarna. In June she became world champion mountain bike marathon.
At the Olympic Games, she finished eighth in road races and sixth in mountain bikes . As in 2014 and 2015, she was number one in mountain biking on the UCI world rankings at the end of 2016. 

In September 2017, she became world champion in cross-country in Cairns, Australia.

In the 2018 season, Jolanda Neff started as world champion for the Kross Racing Team. In May she finished second behind the Danish Annika Langvad at the UCI Cross-Country Short Track (XCC) MTB World Cup after 23:58 minutes in Albstadt . At the last World Cup race in La Bresse, France, she won the overall World Cup with three victories of the season. In August she became the European cross-country champion for the third time in Glasgow .

In August 2019, the 26-year-old finished second at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Canada, making it runner-up behind the French Pauline Ferrand-Prévot . In December, Jolanda Neff was seriously injured in a training crash in the USA.
