Sina Frei (born July 18, 1997 ) is a Swiss cyclist who competes in mountain bike and cross country competitions as well as races on the road .

Athletic career

Sina Frei began her sporting career with ballet and gymnastics , later with football , until she was introduced to cycling by her father at the age of twelve.

In 2013 Frei (1.51 meters tall, racing weight 47 kilograms) won her first national youth title on the mountain bike as well as in cross-country and road races. From 2014 to 2016 she was Swiss elite cyclo-cross champion three times in a row, and in 2014 and 2015 she was national junior road champion. In 2014 she started at the road world championships in the junior race and finished eleventh. She won the mountain classification in the Czech elite stage race Gracia Orlová in 2018.

However, their most successful discipline is mountain biking in the Cross Country (XCO) discipline . In 2015 she became the European Junior Champion and from 2016 to 2019 she was the U23 European Champion four times in a row. In 2017 and 2019 she won the world title in the U23 class. Three times in a row, the Swiss team with Sina Frei was world champion in Team Relay (relay) from 2017 to 2019 .
