Emma Cecilie Norsgaard Jørgensen (born July 26, 1999 in Silkeborg ) is a Danish cyclist who competes in races on the road and on the track .

Athletic career

In 2016 Emma Norsgaard Jørgensen became the 16-year-old Danish champion in the elite road race.

In the following year she achieved further successes in the junior division: She became vice world champion in road racing. In the individual time trial , she finished 16th after her own bike had not been approved by the commissioners a few minutes before the start of the race and she had to compete on a bike borrowed from Cecilie Uttrup . The Road European Championships , she won silver in the road race and bronze in the time trial and was also national junior champion in the time trial. She also races on the track .

From 2018 Norsgaard Jørgensen started as a professional for the Cervélo Bigla team , and in October she extended her contract. That year she finished second in the Chrono des Nations . In 2019 she finished fifth in the U23 time trial at the European Road Championships

Private

Norsgaard Jørgensen is the younger sister of Mathias Norsgaard Jørgensen (* 1997) , who finished third in the U23 World Championship in the individual time trial . She is in a relationship with the Danish cyclist and U23 world champion of 2018, Mikkel Bjerg (* 1998).
