Pfeiffer Zara Georgi (born September 27, 2000 in Berkeley ) is a British cyclist who competes on track and road .

Athletic career

Pfeiffer Georgi learned to cycle at the age of four. She lived near the Herne Hill Velodrome , and her father, who was also a cyclist, took her there. Her brother Etienne, her mother Louise, her father Peter and her grandfather were also active in cycling. She started racing at the age of six. She also danced ballet until she was a teenager .

In 2017 Georgi attracted international attention when she won the Gent-Wevelgem junior race . In the same year she was with Anna Docherty two-time British champion in two-man team driving , in the junior and in the elite category. At the 2017 UCI Road World Championships , she finished sixth in the road race among the juniors and seventh in the individual time trial . In 2018 she won the junior class at the Trofeo Alfredo Binda , the overall classification of the Healthy Aging Tour and the Watersley Ladies Challenge . On the track, she won bronze in the team pursuit at the junior world championships with Ellie Russell , Ella Barnwell and Elynor Bäckstedt and was national junior champion in the points race . At the road world championships in the same year she was fourth in the individual time trial. It was then referred to as "one of the most exciting talents the UK has ever produced".

For 2019, Pfeiffer Georgi received her first contract with Team Sunweb and came third in the British U23 road championship. In February 2020 she finished 17th in the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race .
