Thierry Marichal
Thierry Marichal (born June 13, 1973 in Leuze-en-Hainaut ) is a former Belgian cyclist .
Thierry Marichal received a contract with Cédico-Ville de Charleroi in 1996 , after having been a stagiaire there the previous year . In 1997 he won the overall ranking of the Tour de la Region Wallonne . Then he moved to the Belgian cycling team Lotto . In 1999 he decided a stage of the Picardy Tour for himself. He won a stage at the Circuit Franco-Belge and was second in the overall standings behind Daniele Nardello . From 2005 to 2006 Marichal drove for the French ProTeam Cofidis . In the first year there he won the Duo Normand with Sylvain Chavanel . In 2007 he ended his career with Française des Jeux .
