Lucinda Brand (born July 2, 1989 in Dordrecht ) is a Dutch cyclist on the road and cross-country . She is considered an accomplished technician.

Athletic career

Brand has been active in international cycling teams since the 2009 season . In 2011 finished seventh at the national road racing championships for women; At the junior European championships, she finished third in the road race and seventh in the individual time trial . In 2012 she was fifth overall in the Route de France Féminine , fourth in the Open de Suède Vårgårda , at the UCI Road World Championships in Valkenburg aan de Geul , she won bronze in the team time trial with Kirsten Wild , Emma Pooley , Sharon Laws , Jessie Daams and Chantal Blaak .

In 2013, Lucinda Brand became Dutch road racing champion, finished eighth in the Emakumeen Bira , seventh in the International Tour of Thuringia , came second in the Open de Suède Vårgårda , third in the Trophée d'Or Féminin and sixth in the Grand Prix de Plouay-Bretagne . At the UCI Road World Championships 2013 in Florence , Lucinda Brand and her team Rabobank Women Cycling Team ( Thalita de Jong , Pauline Ferrand-Prévot , Roxane Knetemann , Annemiek van Vleuten and Marianne Vos ) became vice world champion in the team time trial. In 2014 she won a stage and the overall ranking of the Energiewacht Tour and also won the Grand Prix de Plouay-Bretagne.

In 2015, Brand was successful on one stage of the Energiewacht Tour, became the Dutch road race champion for the second time and won two stages at the Giro d'Italia Femminile . In addition, she won the points classification of the Holland Ladies Tour and came second in the overall classification. At the road world championships in Richmond , USA , she won the bronze medal in the team time trial together with Thalita de Jong , Shara Gillow , Roxane Knetemann , Katarzyna Niewiadoma and Anna van der Breggen .

In 2018, Brand finished third at the Dutch time trial championships, 13 seconds behind her teammate Ellen van Dijk . At the Boels Ladies Tour , Brand was second in the overall standings with just 18 seconds on Annemiek van Vleuten before the last stage , but fell in the final time trial and slipped to 21st place overall. At the road world championships of the year , she won bronze in the team time trial with the Sunweb team.

In 2019, Lucinda Brand became world champion in the mixed relay with the Dutch team and at the European Championships she won bronze in the individual time trial . In the cyclo-cross race she was runner-up in the world as well as the Dutch champion. The following year she won bronze at the Cyclo-cross World Championships .
