The Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta is a street race for women that was first held in 2015.

The competition was held for the first time before the arrival of the final stage of the Vuelta a España 2015 as a circuit race on a circuit in Madrid in mid-September, with a track length of 87 kilometers. After lengthy negotiations, the one from the Amaury Sport Organization became part of the UCI women's road cycling calendar 2015 and was classified in UCI category 1.1. In 2016, the race was added to the calendar of the newly launched UCI Women's WorldTour .

In 2018, the race was expanded to two stages, starting with a 14-kilometer team time trial the day before the original circuit race.
