Pernille Mathiesen (born October 5, 1997 in Holstebro ) is a Danish cyclist.

Athletic career

In 2013, Pernille Mathiesen finished fifth in the Danish elite road championship at the age of 15. The following year she was runner-up in the junior individual time trial world champion in Ponferrada and won bronze in the same discipline at the Summer Youth Olympic Games . In 2015 she became the Danish junior champion in the individual time trial.

In 2016 Mathiesen received her first contract with the Danish UCI Women's Team BNS BIRN. In the same year she won a stage of the Czech cycling race Gracia Orlová . In 2017 she became two-time U23 European champion in individual time trials and road races in Copenhagen . At the Danish elite time trial championship, she finished second.

In 2018 she moved to the Dutch team Team Sunweb . At the Danish championships she was again second in the time trial and fourth in the road race. Mathiesen was fifth in the individual time trial of the European championships and won bronze in the team time trial and twelfth in the individual time trial of the elite at the world championships .
