The 71 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships 2020 were held in the February 1 and 2 Swiss Dübendorf instead.

The event, called the Cross- Cycling World Championships according to local custom , was organized by Swiss Cycling on the grounds of the Dübendorf airfield . On the mostly flat area, which is easily accessible and offers good infrastructure for thousands of spectators, artificial ramps were built to meet the demands of cyclocross. It is the ninth cross-bike world championships in Switzerland.

270 participants take part in the event. For the first time, a race for juniors (U-19) will also be held.
