Thalita de Jong (born November 6, 1993 in Bergen op Zoom ) is a Dutch cyclist who is active in road cycling and cross-country races .

Career

In 2011 Thalita de Jong became the Dutch junior champion in the individual time trial .

2013 she won at the 2013 UCI Road World Championships , together with teammates from Rabobank Liv Giant in the team time trial finished second, and two years later she was with the team at Rabobank Liv Woman Cycling Team third in the World Championships

In January 2016, de Jong won the world champion title in cyclo-cross racing in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, as well as the national title in this discipline. The following year, she was unable to defend her title because of a torn hamstring. In the following time she suffered from further injuries, got wrong diagnoses and developed depression, so that she only competed in a few races and had no successes to show. From May 2019 she started for the newly founded Chevalmeire team , of which she was initially the only member.
