Sanne Cant (born October 8, 1990 in Lille ) is a Belgian cyclist who is mainly active in cyclo-cross races. She is one of the dominant female athletes in this discipline in the 2010s.
Athletic career
In 2007 Sanne Cant became Belgian champion in cyclo-cross racing for the first time, still in the youth class.
Up to and including 2019 she was Belgian champion in this discipline 13 times. In 2014 she was successful in the elite for the first time when she became European champion. After winning silver at the 2015 cyclocross world championships and bronze at world championships in 2016 , she became world champion for the first time in 2107 . She was able to defend this title in 2018 . In February, in Bogense , Denmark , she won the 2019 cyclocross world title for the third time in a row . In 2015, 2016 and 2018 she also won the overall World Cup in cyclo-cross racing . At the end of the 2018/19 season, she won the Superprestige Cyclocross for the fourth time in a row .
In addition to cross-country races, Cant also regularly competed on the road . In 2017 she finished fourth in the road race at the Belgian championships , and in 2018 she finished third.
