Cyclocross World Cup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cyclocross World Cup is a series of important cyclocross races organized by the UCI . The most important racing series in cross-country driving alongside Superprestige and DVV Trofee was introduced in the 1993/1994 season and contested by national teams up to and including 2003/2004. Since then, professional teams have taken part in the series as in road cycling .

In the 2007/2008 season, the men's elite class no longer had an overall World Cup ranking, but instead included the points directly in the world rankings in order to have only one relevant UCI ranking. At the same time, the previous jersey of the leader in the overall World Cup was exchanged for a blue jersey for the leader of the world rankings. The world number one at the end of the season was considered the World Cup winner. With the 2008/2009 season, the World Cup classification was reintroduced, as was the leader's white jersey.

The record winner is the Belgian Sven Nys with seven successes.
