Loes Gunnewijk (born November 27, 1980 in Groenlo ) is a Dutch cycling trainer and former racing cyclist who was active on the road , track and in cyclo-cross races. Her specialty was the individual time trial . Since 2019 she has been the national coach of the Dutch women's national road team.
Athletic career
Gunnewijk has stood on the podium numerous times at national championships. In 2006 she became Dutch champion and student world champion in the individual time trial, and in 2010 she won the national road race title . In 2010 she also won the Ronde van Drenthe . In 2012 Loes Gunnewijk was runner-up in the team time trial world championship, and the following year she and her team took third place at the World Championships . She ended her career in mid-2015.
Professional
Since 2016, Gunnewijk has been working for the Dutch cycling association Koninklijke Nederlandsche Wielren Unie (KNWU) as a talent scout for female drivers and as an assistant trainer for the Paracyclists . On January 1st, 2019, she was appointed national coach for road racers, after having been responsible for the juniors since 2017. This post was filled for the first time after a coach was responsible for men and women.
