Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin
The Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin was the oldest road cycling race for women on the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) calendar . It was operated annually in the Aude département in the south of France until 2010 .
organization
Originally the stage race organized by Jean Thomas led around a city for four days, but over the years it got longer and attracted top riders from all over the world. In 2006 the race ran for ten days.
After Jean Thomas' death, his daughter Anne-Marie Thomas organized the Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin. In the absence of sponsors, it had to be discontinued after the 2010 edition, which included eleven daily stages with around 875 kilometers.
