Nita van Vliet

Nita van Vliet is a former cyclist from the Netherlands .

Nita van Vliet was active as a competitive cyclist from 1976 to 1980. In 1977 she became Dutch road racing champion . She met two-time Dutch junior road champion, Piet Liefaard, and married him. Since Liefaard became seriously ill, she ended her cycling career.

Van Vliet is the sister of the racing driver Teun van Vliet and the mother of the racing driver Arjen de Baat , a son of Liefaard, who bears the name of her second husband. Her daughter from her second marriage, Kim de Baat , was also able to celebrate her first successes as a cyclist; in 2012 she was third in the European Road Championships (U23). Today Nita van Vliet runs a children's clothing store.
