Larissa Kleinmann (born September 10, 1978 in Stuttgart ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

Larissa Kleinmann began her athletic career as a track and field athlete . She was European cross-country champion (U19) with the team and multiple German youth champion. In 2002, she ended her athletics career in the USA and switched to cycling in 2005.

Larissa Kleinmann has also won several German junior championships on track and road in this sport . In 2006 she became German champion of the elite in the single pursuit on the track in Cottbus , after having become vice-champion the year before. Twice she finished third in world cup races .

In 2007 Kleinmann came second in the overall ranking of the Geelong Tour in Australia. Because she allegedly took an illegitimate vacation during an injury break, she was dismissed from the national team by the Association of German Cyclists , which at the same time meant the end of her sponsorship by the Bundeswehr and her Olympic dreams in Beijing in 2008. She then moved to the Nürnberger Equipe and won the Holland Hills Classics . At the end of 2008 she left the team and switched to the South African team MTN , for which she was also responsible for international public relations and ended her active cycling career there.

Since March 2011 Larissa Kleinmann has been the Sports Marketing Manager of the Swiss bicycle manufacturer BMC .

Private

In 1998 Larissa Kleinmann graduated from high school and then went to the USA, where she completed a degree in marketing (Bachelor and MBA).
