from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Equipe Nürnberger Versicherung (from 2010 Equipe Noris Cycling ) was the name of a Nuremberg women's professional team with the status of UCI Women's Team up to and including the 2009 season . It was named after the main sponsor Nürnberger Versicherung . Due to its internationally dominant position, the team formed the framework of the German national team in women's road cycling .

The most famous driver was the former road world champion Regina Schleicher , who ended her career in 2009. In addition, the German vice world champion Trixi Worrack and Edita Pučinskaitė (Lithuania) are among the team's figureheads.

The team's manager was Herbert Oppelt. Ex-national coach Jochen Dornbusch (JoDo for short) took over the sporting management of the team from Jens Zemke . Dornbusch left the team at the end of June 2010. His successor was Thijs Rondhuis from the Netherlands .

In August 2009 a new main sponsor was found for the team in the yacht company "Skyter". At the beginning of December 2009, the company surprisingly announced its withdrawal. In the 2010 season, the team started under the name "Equipe Noris Cycling". The name was derived from the Latin name for Nuremberg, Noricum. At the end of the 2010 season, the team disbanded.
