Stephanie Gaumnitz , née Pohl , (born October 21, 1987 in Cottbus ) is a former German racing cyclist who was successful in various cycling disciplines.
Athletic career
In 2006 Stephanie Pohl was second in the German championship in points racing . In the following year she finished third in the overall ranking of the Tour of Poland for women. In 2008 she became German runner-up in cyclo-cross racing .
In 2010 Stephanie Pohl was third in the DM in the points race ; In 2011 she won the German championship title in the single pursuit and in the points race in Berlin , after having finished third at the German Mountain Championship in Albstadt a few weeks earlier . In 2010 and 2011 she won the overall ranking of the Rad-Bundesliga.
On February 18, 2015, Pohl became the first German world champion in the points race at the Vélodrome National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France , after having been runner- up in this discipline the year before .
In 2016 Stephanie Pohl was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished ninth in the team pursuit together with Mieke Kröger , Charlotte Becker and Gudrun Stock . In both 2016 and 2017 , Stephanie Pohl (since 2017: Gaumnitz) and her team won bronze in the team time trial . A few days after the 2017 Road World Championships, she announced that this was her last race and that she was ending her cycling career.
Miscellaneous
In 2009 Pohl had a daughter. In 2015 she was Sportswoman of the Year in Brandenburg and in 2017 Sportswoman of the Year in Cottbus.
In July 2017, Stephanie Pohl married her trainer and partner Michael Gaumnitz; since then she has borne his family name.
