Tazzjana Sharakova ( Belarusian Таццяна Шаракова , Russian Татьяна Шаракова / Tatiana Sharakova, also Tatsiana Sharakova ; born July 31, 1984 in Orsha , Belarusian Socialist Soviet Republic , Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian cyclist and the most successful cyclist in her country since 2000.
Cycling career
Tazzjana Sharakova is an all-rounder. By 2016 she was national champion at least 22 times in various disciplines on track and road . In 2012 alone, she won seven titles as Belarusian champion, six of them on the track and the seventh in the road race . In 2005 and 2006 she was European champion (U23) in the single pursuit , in 2012 also European champion in the omnium of the elite. In 2011 she won the title of world champion in points race at the 2011 UCI track world championships in Apeldoorn .
In 2012 Tazzjana Sharakova started at the Olympic Games in London . She started in the Omnium (9th) and with Alena Dylko and Aksana Papko in the team pursuit (7th). Four years later she was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished ninth in the Omnium.
doping
On the occasion of the UEC European Rail Championships in 2012 , Sharakova tested positive for tuaminoheptane and was banned for 18 months.
